Meeting Sydney for the first time March 2008

Goodbye Townsville and hello to SYDNEY!! Wow it felt so good to finally get to a big city. Just being at the airport I could tell I wasn’t in “Kansas” anymore. I don’t remember things detail to detail but I will try my best. We first went home to Christian house which was in this little suburb called Bellevue hill. Bellevue hill is incredibly beautiful. Some of the most beautiful homes in Sydney are there. It was just to die for! The house he lived in was cute but it didn’t look like the other houses. The house across the street from us was like a mini-mansion. In all the time I spent in Bellevue hill I never saw anyone enter or leave that house. I got to meet CT roommates Adam and Allen. My ears were still a bit off because of the scuba diving and I think we had a really relaxing day that day. Christian and Adam took me to Bondi beach and to Bondi junction mall. We probably got thai food that night at bondi.

The next day CT had to go to work L so me and Adam drove CT to work and Adam took me all the way up to the Northern Beaches. I don’t remember the names of all the beaches but I do remember him taking me to Manly which is one of the more popular northern beaches. Adam also took me to Bronte and Coogee beach. There I saw the pools that were carved into the rocks. I saw people walking around the street barefoot, which I thought was a little odd at the time.

Most of the sightseeing I had to do on my own since CT worked during the week and so did everyone else. I managed to learn how to get around the city pretty easily as well. I would walk to bondi beach in the morning and on other days I would head into the city. I walked in hyde park which is at the entrance of the city if your coming in from the eastern suburbs. I went to a saint Mary cathedral because I knew Cornell would love a picture of the church. I went to the Queen Victoria building which was a small but upmarket shopping centre. I also went to the gym at Bondi junction which has an incredible view of the city.

When Christian would get out of work he would drive me around some more and we would just laugh and sing and be really silly. We usually ate out but on some nights he would cook. One of my favourite dishes he cooked was the creamy chicken pasta which taste amazing and I can now cook. He knew his way around the chicken which I thought was super cute. All I can make at the time was grilled chicken with steamed rice and veggies. Very boring. Now I love to cook and can make some of the most amazing meals known to man J

Anyways there is more to tell and say but for now me go bye bye

Scuba Divers at Last march 08

Training to become a certified diver ended up being a lot of fun. We got to meet some interesting new people and had a blast with them all. I remember one night during our scuba classes we were sitting at our desk and the instructor was trying to teach us an acronym in order to remember some vital information. Everyone was allowed to make up there own acronym and lets just say mine was filthy!!! It was so bad that I was just cracking up and I couldn’t control myself. The instructor asked me what my acronym was and I politely said that I didn’t want to share it. But he keep insisting that I share it with the class and everyone but Christian was insisting (Christian had a good idea were my mind was). So I caved to the pressure and said ‘Boys With Big Asses Get Filled’. Everyone’s faces in the room just dropped and the instructor pretended not to get it. CT was soooooo embarrassed that when we were in the car he was telling me how I couldn’t say thing like that here because this wasn’t New York blah blah blah. I wasn’t embarrassed to be honest but I guess he had a point. I am not sure if that night was the night that we got on top of his water tank and stared at the stars. There must have been thousands that night.

Before you know it we were on our way to Polaris Island to go for our first real scuba dive. We had practiced first by a pool which ended up being fun as well. Well learned a lot of hand signals and how to empty water from our masks. We also learned how to breath properly and how to adjust our buoyancy in the water. I remember being upset because they didn’t pair me up with CT as a partner when we trained at the pool. Must have been the comment I made a few days ago. Anyways Polaris island is about 1 ½ hours north of Townsville and about a 45 min boat ride off the coast. The boat ride was nice and there was about 15-20 people on the trip. I was so gullible with all the stories the instructors told. In order to keep us away from hitting and damaging the coral he was telling us a story about these coral jumping leeches. That if you got to close to the coral the leeches would jump up and bite you. I was a sucker and believed it. I didn’t realize he was lying till he was telling us about the hoop snake. Supposedly if you went up the mountain there were snakes in trees that if they saw you they would take shape of a hoop roll down the mountain and bite you. I mean there are animals that can camouflage and change shape!! Why couldn’t there be a hoop snake or a jumping coral leech? Anyways a nice American girl told me there was no such thing and I felt so silly. Christian just laughed at me.

Back to scuba diving…. Well we all went back into the water to take our final class to become certified divers. After that we were allowed to take 2 dives on our own with our partners. I made sure CT was with me this time. It ended up being a wonderful experience. We took pictures with our underwater camera. We saw Nimo, and a huge clam. We saw the coral reef which was nice. I had issues going down below
13 meters because for some odd reason I couldn’t equalize my ears so it hurt a lot. I had to go down real slowly. I remember making funny faces to CT and just really having an amazing time.

Funny story….. I never saw where the bathroom was but according to CT it was horrific. It was this spider infested hell hole with a pit that looked like it homed alligators. He felt so bad for the ladies and he decided that he wouldn’t go near it. So we went out into the bush and found a couple of big leaves a small stream of water and did our business out in the wild.

At night time we had a nice dinner around the camp fires. Another funny story was that during our trip we were a little worried that they would be slightly uncomfortable around us being the only gay guys on the island. But boy were we wrong. WE WERE A HIT!!!!! Everyone was so interested in knowing how we met, how long we have been together, if we were planning on getting married. Any question you can think of we were asked. It was really cute when you think about it and it was funny because up till that time we had probably only spent like 6 whole days with one another.

Me and Ct slept on the rocky beach looking at the stars that night. I know its very romantic, but its wasn’t planned that way. When we went to lay in our tent we noticed something moving around. We really couldn’t see so we used the flash from our camera to light our tent. What we found was a massive spider in the tent and me and CT freaked out like girls. First we tried to kill it and we missed so I flipped out thinking “OMG the spider is probably piss off now, she is going to bite us “ and we both flew out that tent screaming. The problem was that we had to get our sleeping bags which were still in the tent and the beach was rocky and we needed some kind of cushion. It took us about 30 minutes to get the stuff out of the tent and onto the beach. It wasn’t the most comfortable night but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. The moon was shining bright and the stars were sparkling.

Anyways this blog post is getting to long now

Hope all is well,

Australia Past: Touching Aussie Soil for the first time back in march 2008

Getting to Australia is not an easy task! You waste a whole day of your life flying in a metal mechanical bird. And my first trip to Australia wasn’t direct lol. I flew from New York to Houston, from Houston to Hawaii, from Hawaii to Guam, and from Guam to Cairns Australia. I still had one more flight to go since Christian was in Townsville and my flight wasn’t for another 5 hours. So I called him to let him know I was ok and slept at the airport. It’s funny because I used to Pronounce Cairns as Car-Nees but its pronounced Kan’s. Don’t ask me why I pronounced it as Car-nees. So when I finally arrived to Townsville I saw CT for the first time in months and he was looking cute. He drove me around Townsville and showed me his parent’s house and we just caught up. It was really cool because we just got along really well and it wasn’t hard for us to laugh. Anyways I think that day we dropped off my bags at his parent home and then we drove up to this water hole. The water hole was really nice and pretty. I saw my first wallaby which is a smaller version of a kangaroo. We swam for a bit then we heading back home and got some food. The reason why we were in Townsville was because we were going to go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. We had a few couple of days to kill so CT showed me around where he grew up.

One of the days before the scuba training we went to Magnetic Island which is an island just off the coast of Townsville. Its about a 15-20 min boat ride. It’s a small but very cute island. It has a few vacation homes. I am not to sure if people live on the island full time. I remember heading to one of the beaches. All the Beaches in northern
Queensland have jelly fish nets since jelly fish are a serious concern in that part of the land. I was a little scared but in the end it was fine and we had a good time. We walked around the island for a bit and ate there as well. This is also around the time he wasn’t shy to fart in front of me and OMG THEY STINK. You know how people fart and sometimes the smell sometimes they don’t. WELL CT FARTS SMELL ALL THE TIME AND THEY ARE DEADLY. I think if you put a small animal nearby it would be killed. So after that I farted in front of him as well, fortunately for him mine only smell from time to time.

On another day/night we met up with CT childhood friend who still lived in good old Townsville. We went out to dinner and later that night we went to the highest point of the city and got a great view of the whole town. I also got to see a lot of bats in the air which isn’t something we ever get to see in New York. Townsville was nice considering it’s a very small town and kind of red neckish. We mostly just hung around the pool are rented a movie or drove around town. I rented one of my favourite movies “Saved” which is really funny but I don’t think he was crazy about it. And I was introduced to Delta Goodrem who is an Australian singer. My friend Justin is in love with Delta.

Anyways that’s all for now

Background Info on CT AND ME

So I was thinking that maybe I should start giving you guys some background information on me and Christian. It was January 7th I was out at my favourite Sunday night party Hiro when I met Christian and his friend Glenn.
They were smoking outside and David who was having a cigarette decided to go up to both Christian and Glenn for no apparent reason. We spoke for a little bit and decided to go back inside for a dance. The music was great, but the night was coming to an end and I guess Christian and Glenn wanted to keep dancing so they asked if there were any after parties. We told them about APT in the meatpacking district and decided to get our coats and go with them. I hate waiting in line for coat check so I decided to put my jacket under a bench ( which is what I have always done ) and that night someone took my Old Navy Jacket L. Lucky it wasn’t a cold winter night and the walk was about 5 blocks. It was Christian, Glenn, ken, Miguel and I that ended up going to APT. Glenn ended up leaving a bit early and APT got boring so we all went back to my place. Miguel actually ended up going back home and it was just me, ken and Christian.

Actually there are so many details to the story that I think I can afford to skip a few spots. Me and Christian ended up meeting up during the day a few times and we just walked around and stuff. I was flying to Las Vegas the next day and he was heading back to Sydney the day after. He called me later that day saying he had an argument with his friend and that he was going to spend the night at a hotel and if I wanted to see him. So I went to meet him at the Waldorf Astoria ( FYI that hotel is crap!!!! They have an amazing locations and the foyer is gorgeous but the rooms where pathetic. I would rather stay at the W hotel) but that’s not the point of the story lol. Christian and I had a really nice night and we cuddled which is something I never really enjoyed because I would get too hot. ( his skin was really nice and cool so it made it easy) he was telling me in the morning that I sounded like a lion purring ( which is really code for I was snoring and keeping him up ) We had breakfast and walked around some more then he walked me home because I needed to pack for Las Vegas. This is the cute part of the story now ……..after I said goodbye we walked away but like a minute later we both looked back and made eye contact and it was just really really nice. I went to Las Vegas and was there a few days as you guys may know and then I later went to LA and I decided to send him a text message just to make sure he got home ok. Later that night he got messenger and we just started talking up a storm. Then he introduced me to skype and we started talking via skype. I didn’t think too much of it, but I did think it was special and cute. We spoke like every other day till I finally visited in March. It was just this amazing connection that I can’t describe.

Well I think I should give the past a little rest.
On a more current topic I went to go see “knowing” last night with my friends and lets just say that it’s the WORST MOVIE EVER MADE. I thought “Blindness” was bad but this one was way worse! The acting was horrific; the story line was crap. The only nice thing I could say is that the special effects were good but its hurts when I say that ….. Yuck!!!!!
Dennis your not allowed to pick any more movies from now on!!!!
You have been WARNED J

Hope all is well

Its been long OVER DUE

Wow I am not even sure where to begin... Its been over a year since I last posted a blog and let me tell you I HAVE MISSED IT!!!! I haven’t even looked at my blog. I feel really disappointed in myself for not writing because it used to bring me such joy. Especially if I was having a bad day I would just sit down look back and it would bring me back to a time where I was super happy and it would bring a smile to my face. Like I said once before this blog to me is like a journal of my life and I happen to share with the rest of the world. My writing isn’t the best and most creative…. My grammar and spelling sucks…and I don’t get super deep in my writing. Its usually just nonsense and crap, but its my crap and crap that I love. I speak about my nights out with friends at either a dinner or a party, or about my travel experience, and maybe about some movies I have seen. All these little stories give me something. Its gives me joy and laughter. It’s made me aware on how I have changed. I have changed a lot over the course of a year. I have met some amazing people. I have moved from New York City over to Sydney Australia. I work a full time job. I learned how to cook amazing meals. I fell in LOVE (Hench the move to Australia) .

It really is amazing what can happen in life. Never in my life did I ever imagine that I would leave New York. There is so much I want to talk about, but I have no idea where to begin. What I am thinking of doing is to start from the beginning. Start from right before I left New York and decided to leave to Sydney. I know that I am going to be missing a lot of details and I won’t possibly be able to capture the moment but I am going to try my best. My best guides to these moments are going to be the pictures that I have taken over the course of the year.

Attention readers…… A lot of this might not make sense and I might jump from one thing to the next but it all makes sense in my crazy head. I want to be as open and honest as possible but again there are something that I like to keep to myself and private. I wont be covering everything either. I think the purpose of all this is so that I can get back to my normal head space. To get back into a routine of what I used to do. More importantly I think it will help in the healing process. I am sure I am going to shed a lot of tears while writing this but I know that in 2 or 3 years I will look back and I will smile. (My eyes are watery now). Smile like I always have. I want to also thank all my friends for the support and love. You guys are truly amazing. Even from half across the world you guys still manage to put a smile on my face. I also want to thank all the wonderful people I have met here in Sydney. You guys rock!!!! I want to thank my mom for always sending me kisses via text message. (she doesn’t know I have a blog but I can still thank her). Even thou I am feeling tons of pain and I want to strangle him I want to Thank CT because without him I wouldn’t have known what it is to give up everything, become vulnerable and to love like I have never loved before. The feeling was amazing and still is to a degree. I haven’t forgiven CT yet and it can be a while before I do. HELL …. I haven’t forgiven myself yet!! But I want too and I know that overtime I will forgive both him and myself.

……Get readyzzz people Jonathan Vargas is back!!!!!! Well kinda … hehe

Hope all is well

Dinner and Mrs beckham

So me and my friends decided to have dinner last Friday at kenjie's house to have a home cooked meal. Its nice to hang out from time to time outside of the club. Usually we are confined in large but crowded space and its refreshing to actually nice to hear one another. Kenjie made a really nice cake and a spinish dip and Erika cooked her famous white chicken sauce lasagna. Everyone made a request for that dish. Its soooooo good. It was like 10 of us at kenjies and we were all laughing and shouting. We all ate like little piggy's that we could barely move. Erika had brought over monopoly for us to play but it ended up getting so late that we are saving it for our next dinner party. Also a few weeks back Victory Beckham was at Hiro dancing with the gays and I was able to take a quick picture with her. She seemed nice and was very pretty in person.
Anyway's I need to start packing soon. I am flying off to Texas and then I head over to Sydney for 2 weeks. I am sooooooooo excited

Hope all is well

The nice things in LA

So my trip in LA wasn't that horrible. Yes I did get drug and yes I did lose my phone but in the end nothing bad happened to me and I got my phone back yahooo. I was able to explore the city of LA a bit and was also able to stay in different areas. The first few nights in LA I spent it with Jason Ridge. I was supposed to stay with my friend Vinny but his BF had issues with me and was very nasty and Jason actually lived only 2 blocks over so he was nice enough to let me stay with him. In the morning Jason took me to breakfast and he showed me around the Hollywood hills. The other nights I stayed at my friends Elias place and he lived in Hollywood. He took me to this amazing Brazilian restaurant that I just loved. The last few nights i stayed in West Hollywood with my friend Ricardo. OMG Ricardo had a sick apt with a sick few of the hills. It was so nice. Also while I was there I met up with my German friend Frank who was in LA at the same time as I. Me and Frank drove over to Vince beach and took pictures of the water and houses. He was telling me how things were going for him in Germany and we just chilled and relaxed. We got to also experience LA traffic and let me tell you it is not cute. Anyway's I had a good time there and was happy to finally be on the west coast.

Hope all is well
